Study says regular use of commercial cannabis edibles impairs driving
A recent study's findings show that use of cannabis edibles can impair driving. The study, “Dose‐Dependent Effects of Cannabis Edibles on Simulated Driving Performance; A Randomized Clinical Trial,” by Bernard Le Foll, M.D., and colleagues, was published in JAMA Network in August. The small‐scale study included 40 adults who used cannabis regularly. These study participants used edible cannabis and their blood concentrations of THC were measured throughout the study. The study then measured lateral vehicular control, which measures steering a vehicle to keep it in the correct side‐to‐side position on the road.
