Devlet Kapitalizmi Altında Çin'in Kalkınma Süreci
The rising prominence of state capitalism in countries like China and India, the spread of trade wars and protectionist policies, the intensification of criticism against neoliberalism following the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, and the resurgence of state intervention in economies all indicate that globalization and neoliberal policies have entered a significant period of transformation. During this process, it has been observed that competition has intensified across many global sectors, technology-driven development strategies have come to the fore, profit margins in certain sectors have narrowed, and the state's regulatory and guiding role in the economy has regained strength. Although the neoliberal approach advocates for keeping state intervention in economic activities to a minimum, the economic performance demonstrated by China under its state capitalism model has prompted a re-evaluation of this perspective. Through industrialization and development policies driven by state guidance, China has achieved significant success in poverty reduction and heightened interest in the development model based on state intervention. Furthermore, by effectively leveraging foreign capital attracted by low production costs and high profitability expectations, China has built a robust industrial infrastructure and evolved into a central hub within global production networks. This process has enabled China not only to expand its production capacity but also to make substantial strides in high-technology, digital transformation, and innovative sectors. Today, many nations—most notably the United States—are engaged in increasingly intense competition with China across economic, technological, and geopolitical spheres. The aim of this study is to analyze how China successfully implemented its state capitalism model within the Western-led neoliberal international economic order, the mechanisms through which this model accelerated the country's development, and the role it played in China rapidly becoming one of the most important actors in the global economic and political system.
