PROTECTIVE HEMOSTATIC GEL – DRY MIXTURE (DUAL-SYRINGE SYSTEM)
PROBLEM AND OBJECTIVE Clinical Challenge: Persistent micro-bleeding from a rectal tumor lesion causing progressive hemoglobin decline and fatigue. Primary Objective: In addition to systemic monitoring, to provide local mechanical protection to the rectal mucosa, buffering the acidic microenvironment and preventing further friction-induced hemorrhaging. SOLUTION: MAGISTRAL HEMOSTATIC GEL PREPARATION A protective hemostatic hydrogel for targeted rectal administration: Sodium Hyaluronate (1%): Forms a hydrated, elastic mucosal shield supporting tissue regeneration. Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (2%): Micronized buffers local acidity and releases ions to trigger the natural coagulation cascade (hemostasis). Gel Base (Poloxamer 407 or HPMC): Provides mucoadhesion and tissue retention. Formulated with European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) pharmaceutical-grade ingredients for compounding as a Formula Magistralis in the hospital pharmacy. "Because the preparation contains no new synthetic active ingredients, but is a magistral blend of certified excipients (Ph. Eur.) operating via a physical-protective mechanism, it is not subject to registration procedures or clinical trials. It is prepared directly in the pharmacy as a Formula Magistralis for immediate local mucosal protection."
