Psychometric evaluation of the Brazilian version of the 20-Item Big Five Inventory (BFI-20)

The Big Five Inventory (BFI) is one of the most widely used instruments for assessing the five major dimensions of personality: Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Negative Emotionality, and Open-Mindedness. Brief measures are particularly valuable in large-scale studies and clinical or epidemiological settings, where assessment time is limited. The studies comprising this project aim to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Brazilian Portuguese version of the 20-item Big Five Inventory (BFI-20). Specifically, the studies will examine the instrument’s factorial structure, reliability, and evidence of construct validity across Brazilian samples, besided providing Rasch analysis and normative data.
