Time Landscape

This working paper begins from a simple experience: when an end date is fixed, time may feel slow at first, almost suspended in the middle, and increasingly fast near the end. The paper does not assume that one theory explains the entire pattern. Instead, it places eight major accounts of time beside the question and asks what each source actually contributes. The paper has two parts: one for philosophical tour, the one for public administration and policy.

Abstract

This working paper begins from a simple experience: when an end date is fixed, time may feel slow at first, almost suspended in the middle, and increasingly fast near the end. The paper does not assume that one theory explains the entire pattern. Instead, it places eight major accounts of time beside the question and asks what each source actually contributes. The paper has two parts: one for philosophical tour, the one for public administration and policy.
