Management of Conflict Resolution Strategies for a Peaceful Co-existence in Bayelsa State Public Secondary School
The study explored the management of conflict resolution strategies for a peaceful co-existence in Bayelsa State Public Secondary schools. Teachers and Students in a school system came from different ethnic, religions and traditional backgrounds. These obviously would rub-off on their attitude to work and on their relationship with one another, which could cause conflict in the school. The study examined some conceptual definitions of key words such as conflict, management, conflict resolution, peace, and peaceful co-existence. The study also investigated the causes of conflict resolution strategy. Based on the above, it recommended that school heads should be pro-active by resolving problems at its buding stage before it escalates. Principles should avail teachers with training opportunities that will enable them to relate properly with their students and to tolerate their fellow workers. Parents too should inculcate in their children the act of tolerance for their school mates
