Design and Installation of the Engineering Materials Beamline at the High Energy Photon Source

Abstract The ID07 Engineering Materials (EM) beamline at the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) is a high-performance fourth-generation synchrotron radiation platform for advanced EM research. Focusing on full life cycle, cross-scale, and in situ characterization under realistic service conditions, it addresses the critical demands of large-component testing, dynamic evolution observation, and multi-modal structural analysis. The beamline is equipped with high-performance insertion devices, a dedicated optical system, and dual experimental hutches for scattering and diffraction techniques, enabling comprehensive characterization from micro- to macro-scales. Commissioning results confirm that all key performance parameters meet design specifications and reach international advanced levels.
