Factors Affecting Patient’s Satisfaction Level after Septorhinoplasty in Alhada Armed Forced Hospital

Abstract Introduction: Although septorhinoplasty is done to enhance the appearance and functionality of the nose, patient satisfaction varies and may be impacted by psychological and demographic factors. Aim of Study: To determine the variables linked to postoperative satisfaction at Alhada Armed Forces Hospital and evaluate patient satisfaction following septorhinoplasty. Materials and Methods: Between January 2015 and January 2023, adults (≥18 years old) who had septorhinoplasty were the subjects of a retrospective cohort observational study. The validated Rhinoplasty Outcome Evaluation (ROE) questionnaire was used to gather data from patient surveys and medical records. The six items that make up the ROE are rated from 0 to 4, and the sum of the scores is transformed to a scale of 0–100, where higher scores denote greater satisfaction. Clinical, psychological, and sociodemographic factors were collected. Results: There were 72 patients in all (mean age 28.8 ± 7.2 years; 54.2% males). The average ROE score increased from 37.5 ± 23.3 before surgery to 52.7 ± 29.0 after surgery ( P = 0.002). Significant improvements were observed in nasal appearance satisfaction ( P = 0.025), nasal breathing ability ( P = 0.044), and social/professional confidence ( P = 0.003) when comparing preoperative and postoperative responses. Higher postoperative satisfaction was linked to female gender (adjusted odds ratio [AOR] = 2.59; P = 0.049). Lower satisfaction was predicted with a history of nasal trauma (AOR = 0.24; P = 0.033). Greater postoperative pleasure was highly predicted by preoperative appearance-related anxiety (AOR = 7.14; P = 0.004). Conclusions: Nasal function, self-perception, and patient satisfaction are all markedly enhanced with septorhinoplasty. Preoperative counseling should take gender and psychological issues into account since they have an impact on postoperative satisfaction.
