Abstract

CivStructure changed the research object from civilizational points to civilizational nodes. That move contains a temporal consequence. A node is not defined only by location or substance, but by relations, load-bearing effects, scale, and generative history. Once those relations are indexed by time, the structural object becomes a process: N_s becomes N_s(t). Human civilization adds a second asymmetry: civilizational duration can extend across centuries or millennia, while every living human carrier is temporary. A civilization that persists must therefore replace carriers repeatedly and transfer memory, authority, skills, institutions, and relations across generations and often across places. The paper formalizes this transition through five linked ideas. First, persistence is not state invariance. Second, long-term persistence in changing environments may require transformation, producing a Civilizational Stasis Paradox: absolute preservation of every state variable can undermine the ability to remain viable. Fourth, distributed redundancy can function as civilizational network insurance against single-point failure while simultaneously creating cascade risks.
