Techno-Economic and Carbon Utilization Assessment of Precipitated Calcium Carbonate Production in Dhaka, Bangladesh
This preprint presents a preliminary conceptual techno-economic and carbon-utilization assessment of precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) production in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The assessment considers a conceptual 15,000 t/y PCC production case and evaluates stoichiometric material flows, carbon utilization, indicative economics, environmental considerations, and a proposed validation pathway. The economic, process-performance, and carbon-utilization values presented are screening-level estimates based on stated assumptions and are not intended to represent experimentally validated plant performance, vendor-quoted capital costs, or an investment-grade feasibility study. Site-specific limestone characterization, laboratory/pilot PCC production, measured CO₂ utilization, detailed energy balances, market validation, and supplier quotations are identified as important next steps. Version 0.0.1 is released as a preliminary research preprint to establish a citable version of the work and provide a basis for subsequent technical validation and refinement.
