The genome sequence of Carex laevigata Sm., 1800 (Poales: Cyperaceae)

We present a genome assembly of Carex laevigata (smooth-stalked sedge; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Poales; Cyperaceae). The genome sequence has a total length of 376.54 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.74%) is scaffolded into 36 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial sequences have lengths of 1753.61, 43.94, 29.99, 720.76 and 185.64 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 202.9 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
