Halogen Sources for the Controlled Dihalotrifluoroethoxylation and Dihalogenation of Alkynylsilanes in a Trifluoroethanol Aqueous Solution
Abstract We herein report the diiodotrifluoroethoxylation of alkynylsilanes with NH4I in a trifluoroethanol aqueous solution under mild conditions. This method enables a multicomponent one-pot reaction of diverse trifluoroethoxy-functionalized diiodoalkenes with high regio- and stereoselectivity. In addition, the resulting vicinal diiodinates are valuable in late-stage skeletal editing and in the discovery of new fluorescence materials. Moreover, dibromination and dichlorination, as well as the reaction mechanism, have also been investigated.
