VAFB-1994-14: The Archaeological Evaluation of Site CA-SBA-2446 for the Titan Fiber-Optic Transmission System Vandenberg Air Force Base, Santa Barbara County, California.

This document is an archaeological evaluation that was conducted on archaeological site CA-SBA-2446 by the Cultural Resources Division of Parsons Engineering-Science, Inc. This evaluation was conducted in support of the proposed Titan Fiber-Optic Transmission System (TFOTS) for Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB). The archaeological inventory study for this line identified the need to conduct evaluation testing on two sites, CA-SBA-2446 and -2325. Subsequently, the need to test site CA-SBA- 2500 was also identified. However, since the inventory study was completed, the portion of the fiber optic line that was to cross sites CA-SBA-2325 and -2500 has been removed from the project, and will not be constructed. Thus only site CA-SBa-2446 has been evaluated for eligibility for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
