Reimbursed Use of GLP-1 Receptor Agonists in France, 2019–2025

This research report presents an open and reproducible drug-utilisation study of reimbursed glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist use in France from 2019 through 2025. Using aggregated and disclosure-controlled Open Medic reimbursement data, together with population estimates from the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies, the study describes national trends in beneficiaries, reimbursed boxes and expenditure. It also examines active-substance composition, age- and sex-specific utilisation, crude and age-sex-standardised regional rates, regional temporal patterns and the combined reporting of overseas France. The analysis follows a repeated annual cross-sectional design. The study protocol and statistical analysis plan were frozen before examination of the primary results, and subsequent methodological changes were documented through version-controlled amendments. Quality-control procedures included source-file checksums, cross-language validation, reconciliation of additive measures, denominator verification, geographic join controls and a dedicated audit of the combined overseas grouping. The accompanying public repository contains the complete analytical code, source metadata, quality-control outputs, figure-linked datasets, publication figures and supplementary materials required to reproduce and audit the reported results. An interactive dashboard provides access to national, demographic, active-substance and regional visualisations.
