The Integration Cut Knowledge Transfer Pipeline (TIC-KTP): Canonical Framework Specification
The Integration Cut Knowledge Transfer Pipeline (TIC-KTP) is a conceptual and applied framework for structuring the transformation of complex technical information into perceivable, abstractable, actionable, shareable, and acknowledged knowledge. The framework emerged from the practical development of The Integration Cut, a cinematic technical storytelling project focused on enterprise integration, architecture, distributed systems, APIs, security, messaging, and related engineering domains. TIC-KTP defines a canonical six-stage sequence: Visual Cognition → Perception → Abstraction → Action → Knowledge Sharing → Acknowledgement The model distinguishes cinematic and narrative design from the knowledge-transfer pipeline itself: cinematic storytelling functions as an orchestration and encoding layer that can initiate and support the progression through the six stages, rather than constituting an additional stage. This version formalizes the framework’s origin, conceptual structure, stage definitions, transition gates, failure modes, operational application, research propositions, boundary conditions, and relationship to adjacent research in cinematic instructional design and multimedia learning. The framework was developed independently through practical experimentation and abstraction before the author became aware of related academic work in cinematic instructional design.
