Axiodynamics β€” Prolegomena v1.1: Ontological Foundations of the OBJ/Fc/Fi Structure

This paper addresses a foundational question for the axiodynamic programme: is the OBJ/𝐹𝑐/𝐹𝑖 structure β€” attractor, conative force, inhibitive force β€” a property of organised matter in general, or a construction specific to intentional human psychology? The Prolegomena answers in three registers. Ontologically: the structure is demonstrable without biological presuppositions, as a property of any system satisfying three necessary conditions (invariant mnemonic support, systemic individuation, persistence against entropy) under a sufficient condition of selective tension jointly involving 𝐹𝑐 and 𝐹𝑖. Logically: the Necessary and Sufficient Conditions (NSC) are derivable without substrate assumptions and cover biological, computational, and discursive systems within a unified formal framework. Phenomenologically: the relationship between the formal structure and subjective experience is explicitly bracketed β€” this paper does not make claims about consciousness or qualia; it establishes the pre-conscious ontological conditions under which the axiodynamic programme’s empirical questions become well-formed.The central formulation is: a system 𝑆 is teleonomic (π‘†πœ) if and only if {π‘€π‘–βˆ§Individuation∧Persistence} holds under selective tension jointly involving 𝐹𝑐 and 𝐹𝑖. Abstract

At the structural level, conative and inhibitory components are carried by the orthogonal direct sum β„±=β„±π‘βŠ•π‘”βŠ₯ℱ𝑖. At the operational level, interaction between those components may be described as an Ashby-type cybernetic feedback mechanism (Ashby, 1956). The carrier, the selective-tension relation, and the operational mechanism are type-distinct. Anchored in Monod’s (Monod, 1970) teleonomy, Simondon’s individuation theory (Simondon, 1964), and Ashby’s cybernetics (Ashby, 1956), this formulation is demonstrated across four levels of architectural stratification β€” from universal teleonomy to explicit telotopic organisation around telos-Ξ² in the v5.7 computational framework (Kleden, Axiodynamics: A Nine-Axiom Computational Framework for Affect-Cognition Dynamics (v5.7 rev.2), 2026) β€” using a single demonstrative thread: the case of a large language model traversing all four levels.A formal correction to v5.7 (p. 29) follows directly from the orthogonality established here: the subtraction formula 𝐹=π›΄πΉπ‘βˆ’π›΄πΉπ‘– is replaced by the Euclidean/Pythagorean magnitude βˆ₯𝐹totalβˆ₯=√(𝛴𝐹𝑐)2+(𝛴𝐹𝑖)2, resolving a structural anomaly in which a maximum-tension case was mapped to zero resultant magnitude. This document does not extend the axiodynamic programme β€” it establishes the ontological conditions of possibility under which that programme is coherent.
