Powering Rural Resilience: Renewable-Energy Micro-Grids as Multi-Purpose Development Hubs for National Stability, Climate Adaptation and Sustainable Growth in Nigeria
Nigeria carries the world's largest electricity-access deficit — one symptom of a fragile rural economy that also breeds extremism, climate-driven farmer–herder conflict, and mass hunger. This paper reframes rural renewable energy as a national-security and climate-adaptation imperative, proposing that micro-grids be designed as multi-purpose development hubs organised around deliberate temporal load complementarity. The argument is conceptual, advancing testable propositions for a pilot.
