The Therapeutic Process The Client’s Process The River
This paper uses the concept of a river to represent the various dimensions of the therapeutic process relating to clients, within a person-centred framework. As each client is individual, then it follows that each client process will be unique to him/her. However, there are areas of process which can be identified as potential commonalities and I hope to explore these in this symbolic manner. At different points in the exploration of the river’s journey, I will include the relevant proposition(s) to the particular dimension of the client’s therapeutic process. ‘When considering a river, it is evident that there are general factors as well as specific ones.
