When More Structure Changes the Target: A Two-Barrier Analysis of Referential Warrant in a Null-Structural Case

Formal availability does not by itself settle ontology. The problem becomes sharper when a candidate referent is specified not merely as sparse, but as constitutively nullstructural. This paper studies that problem for a conditional Scenario-A V0 antecedent developed elsewhere. The antecedent treats V0 as formally actual and denoting within a typed semantic construction while assigning it a null-structural, alocal, atemporal, and pre-dimensional status. No claim that V0 exists, is physically realized, or is empirically supported is assumed here. The analysis begins only under the explicit scope premise Aont: V0 is admitted as a candidate target of ontological interpretation. Two distinct barriers then arise for strong referential warrant. First, the strongest structural-realist comparator and the strong Actual-V0 referential reading share the same foundational reduct BF ; any warrant fully determined by that shared content cannot discriminate between them. Second, substantive positive target-internal ontic enrichment is not target-preserving when the specified target specification itself entails the absence of such positive internal determination. The second point is formally elementary, but it blocks a common response to the first barrier: adding more internal ontology can change the target rather than strengthen warrant for the original one. Under the declared comparator and a non-circular warrant standard, any successful strong-referential warrant must therefore supply content that is new, independently justified, discriminating, and target-preserving. This is a relative necessary condition, not a sufficient condition and not a universal epistemology of realism.
