Teaching Health in the Digital Age: Designing a Low-Cost Health Promotion Model for Teacher Education Students in Malaysia
This study examines the design of a Low-Cost Digital Health Promotion Model for teacher education students in Malaysia. The study aims to demonstrate how participatory health communication, digital health literacy, and sustainable learning principles can be integrated into an accessible health promotion approach. The discussion describes a four-stage community engagement process involving Metaplan-based participatory brainstorming, interactive health literacy enhancement, low-cost digital technology training, and sustainable commitment. Findings highlight challenges involving digital health literacy, health misinformation, technological accessibility, privacy, and AI competency. The study further discusses the transformation of participants from health information recipients into digital health content creators and prospective health ambassadors through participation, co-creation, and ownership.
