11. Crear puentes y no muros: el legado de Francisco y la misión de León XIV ante el drama de la migración global

Migration has been a constant phenomenon throughout human history. Although its causes have varied—at times voluntary and hopeful, at others forced and terrifying—it has always marked the human condition. Pope Francis’s legacy is indeed one of mercy, which stands at the heart of the Christian tradition. That legacy is taken up by Pope Leo XIV, who interprets it from a Christological perspective—characteristic of theology in general, and of Latin American theology in particular—seeking unity in the service of peace. Christ, true God and true man, in whom two natures are united in one person, is the great bridge of salvation. In his image and likeness, we can learn to read the drama of migration together, so that it may culminate in a divine comedy rather than in tragedy.
