Disseminated Coccidioidomycosis in an Immunocompetent Host: A Geographically and Rapidly Expanding Public Health Concern
We report a case of a 41-year-old immunocompetent man whose initial diagnosis was reconsidered after he was confirmed to have disseminated coccidioidomycosis. Coccidioidomycosis has varied presentations. In addition, the increasing incidence of dissemination in patients with immunocompetence and changing geographic distribution necessitate further awareness of this expanding health concern.
