La imagen de Dios en el tránsito migratorio de niñas y niños a través de México

This chapter explores the narratives of the transformation of the image of God among 41 children and teenagers during their transit through Mexico, primarily from Venezuela and Honduras, as well as from Mexico and other Latin American countries. Through different interviews conducted in accordance with child protection protocols and care, respecting the best interests of the children at all times, the expressed consent of the children and their parents or guardians was obtained to guarantee their right to protection. The responses to the interviews conducted demonstrated that spirituality was strengthened during their journey: the image of God is reframed as a protective, caring, guiding, saving, and providing God; a God who is alive, who manifests and reflects as a “God who travels with us.” This finding reveals the children’s theological perspective and how it functions as a source of identity that provides them with security and psychological resilience in the face of uncertainty and the reality of violence along the migration route. Children and adolescents express their spirituality through simple, meaningful experiences.
