Desafíos pastorales de la inmigración en tiempos de deportaciones masivas: el papel de la Iglesia de los Estados Unidos
This chapter presents an overview of the realities of migration in the United States, shaped by policies of mass deportation and anti-immigrant narratives. As a call to action, it briefly summarizes the Catholic Church’s magisterial teaching on migration and examines the pastoral work of the U.S. Catholic Church with immigrants, highlighting the Church’s prophetic mission to accompany the most vulnerable and the specific roles of Hispanic ministry and migration ministry (pastoral migratoria). In addition, the author offers pastoral reflections drawn from more than thirty years of pastoral experience with Hispanic and immigrant communities across the country, along with guidelines for the human and spiritual care of pastoral workers dedicated to serving immigrants.
