Investigation of Choroid Plexus Alteration and Its Associations With White Matter Hyperintensities in Myotonic Dystrophy
CSF-mediated inflammatory activity has been shown to be related to choroid plexus (ChP) alterations, whose relevance as a biomarker for neuroinflammatory activity is of crucial importance for several diseases. Because missplicing of the ChP and CSF homeostasis alterations have recently been suggested to be a driver of pathogenesis in myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1), this cross-sectional study aimed to examine ChP volumes and their relationship to white matter hyperintensities by the use of MRI to elucidate ChP as a potential biomarker in DM.
