China’s Territorial Nationalism: A Case Study on China’s Irredentist Claim on Ladakh
China, as known today, is bequeathed to the Republic of China (ROC) and later to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) from Qing China at the time of its abdication. To reclaim lost territories due to foreign aggressions in the colonial period, successive Chinese governments have pursued both diplomatic negotiations, as seen with Myanmar and Nepal, and more assertive measures with India and Southeast Asian countries. This study employs a qualitative research methodology with the help of archival methods within the constructivist theory and explicates China preference formation, specifically focused on Ladakh and Aksai Chin.
