PFAS Removal and Destruction: Toward Sustainable End-of-Life Management
Per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) comprise a broad group of synthetic contaminants with varying environmental behaviors.Their persistence, combined with differences in mobility, precursor transformation, and interfacial behaviors, makes management of PFAScontaminated matrices particularly challenging. This problem has pushed scientists and engineers to reconsider what constitutes adequate and sustainable contaminant management.
