Una sinodalidad que cruza fronteras: articular la migración desde una Iglesia sinodal

This chapter links the reality of global migration to synodality and examines its impact on ecclesiology. It argues that an analysis of recent papal teaching and the final documents of the Synods on the Family, Youth, the Amazon, and Synodality shows that human mobility is a reality consistently listened to, discerned, and embraced through the preferential option for the poor. In this way, the Catholic Church receives migration as an opportunity for welcome, integration, and intercultural exchange, and recognizes that it calls for contextualized, coordinated, and cross‑border responses. Finally, drawing on the fruits of the synodal dialogue at the 2025 Colloquium on Migration and Theology, the chapter affirms migration as a theological locus, persistently brought to the fore by the Holy Spirit through synodality.
