Case presentationA 55-year-old woman presented to our institution in November 2024 with a 1-month history of intermittent haematochezia and mucus discharge.Prior misdiagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and subsequent mesalazine treatment did not improve symptoms.Progressive tenesmus and mid-abdominal pain prompted referral for a gastroenterological evaluation.
