SYNTHESIS OF AN ADAMANTYL-CONTAINING SCHIFF BASE SUBSTITUTED BENZOXAZOLONE: A POTENTIAL ANTIBACTERIAL AGENT
Benzoxazolone derivatives (BOA) have attracted considerable attention due to their diverse pharmacological potential as therapeutic agents. In this work, we describe an eco-friendly ultrasonic-assisted synthesis method, as well as a conventional method, for the preparation of novel BOA derivatives (1–4). Furthermore, the BOA derivatives were reacted with p-nitro-, p-chloro-, and p-hydroxyanilines to produce Schiff bases (5–8). The results showed that, compared with conventional approaches, the ultrasonic-assisted method exhibits improved reaction kinetics and energy efficiency.
