A clinical case of treatment with netakimab in a patient with moderate psoriasis associated with metabolic syndrome
Psoriasis is a chronic disease of multifactorial origin, characterized by accelerated proliferation of keratinocytes and impaired differentiation, an imbalance between pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines, and frequent involvement of the musculoskeletal system in the pathological process. Hereditary predisposition, immune system dysfunction, psychoemotional disorders, and adverse environmental factors play a significant role in the development of psoriasis. Currently, a personalized approach to the choice of therapy for such patients, considering age, severity of the disease, and the presence of comorbid pathology, is relevant. We present a description of a clinical case of treating a patient with moderate psoriasis associated with metabolic syndrome using netakimab (an interleukin-17A inhibitor). The drug was administered according to the guidelines for medical use as subcutaneous injections at a dose of 120 mg. As a result of the treatment, the patient experienced not only complete rash resolution but also an improvement in his psychoemotional state. With further use of the drug, 8 months after the initiation of treatment, the patient also noted a decrease in body weight from 120 to 90 kg. The high efficacy and safety of the drug made it possible to achieve remission of the disease and control its course, improving the patient’s metabolic status and quality of life.
