The ‘high jacking’ of intersectionality: Who are the kidnappers?
This article is a critique of a critique. I argue that over the last 20 years, intersectionality has been included in various sectors: it clearly appeals to many people – not only in the academy, but also in the public domain, where it became a slogan or even a commodity. Unlike Bilge, I consider the width of intersectionality with its various interpretations as an important tool to asking ‘other questions’, and as a contribution to the understanding of global debates about racism and social inequality.
