Composite Dynamic Process: A Theory of Dynamic Process Structure, Transfer, and Feedback

Many real-world processes emerge through the succession of multiple relatively complete dynamic processes rather than from a single dynamic process. This article proposes Composite Dynamic Process Theory, a theory of dynamic process structure that explains how component dynamic processes form, sustain, and adjust a higher-level sequence. A composite relation is established when an element from the outcome of one dynamic process is transferred and assumes a functional role in the receiving dynamic process. The sequence as a whole forms a composite-level regenerative cycle in which its outcome generates feedback, enabling the position or relation requiring adjustment to be traced. This structure distinguishes transfer from dependency, component-level outcomes from composite-level outcomes, and the location where a discrepancy manifests from the location requiring adjustment. On this basis, the theory provides a framework for explaining development and deterioration, deriving application consequences for the construction, restructuring, and disruption of Composite Dynamic Processes, and generating testable predictions.
