Intervention study on the impact of multi-touch technology Fingu app on number sense in children with intellectual disabilities

Objectives This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of using the multi-touch technology Fingu software to intervene in the number sense skills of children with intellectual disabilities.Methods A multiple probe across participants design, a form of single subject experimentation, was employed to evaluate the impact of intervention.Results The intervention by Fingu resulted in decreased reaction times on both perceptual and conceptual subitizing tasks and increased scores on the composition task.Conclusions The findings suggest that Fingu software has a positive effect on enhancing number sense in children with intellectual disabilities, offering a new direction for future intervention strategies in this population.
