Primality, Composition, and Fixed-Carrier Oriented Algebras. Reflections on Nesting with Commander Sol
A prime number is usually treated as a special object of the natural-number line. Yetif the carrier is kept fixed and multiplication is replaced by addition, the set of indecomposable elements changes. If the operation is fixed but the carrier is changed, itmay change again. More strongly, even for a fixed carrier and operation, the answercan depend on which decompositions are declared trivial. This paper shifts the focus from “why are some numbers prime?” to a broader question: what geometry of composition is induced by a chosen carrier, operations, and rules of triviality? We introduce a compositional sandbox, distinguishisolation, atomicity, and the prime property, and replace the single binary distinction“prime/composite” by a richer geometry of nesting. For systems whose objects are positionally attached to a carrier, we introduce theterm Fixed-Carrier Oriented Algebra (FCOA). After the operations are built, theexternal carrier can be removed from the language and the resulting internal reductstudied. We call this procedure the Carrier-Erasure Test. For finite structures thetest admits an exact criterion via automorphism orbits.A useful warning comes from the support semilattice: singleton supports are orderatoms, but they are not factorization atoms under union with the usual unit-basednotion of triviality, because 𝐴 = 𝐴 ∪ 𝐴. This shows that the very notion of a trivialdecomposition is a genuine part of the sandbox. Finally, we analyze a complete Line-FCOA example. On a finite chain we define thepartial operation “move one step from the first point toward the second.” After erasing the external order, the internal operation reconstructs the underlying undirectedpath but not its left-right orientation: the automorphism group consists of the identityand the reflection. The example shows that Carrier-Erasure can measure not only information loss, but the exact amount of carrier geometry absorbed by the operations.
