Implications of PWPN and EYM in the Church in South Asia: A Theological Reflection

The Church stands at a decisive historical juncture in South Asia. This is in the midst of a culture marked by ecological crisis, human fragmentation and theological impasse (Panikkar, “Is History the Measure of Man…,” 41). Pope Leo XIV has repeatedly reminded the faithful that authentic Christian renewal begins not merely with structural reforms but with hearts reformed by Christ (Sunday Angelus, 22 June 2026). Within this ecclesial context, the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network (PWPN) and Eucharistic Youth Movement (EYM) emerge as an expression of the Christian spirituality in daily life that unites contemplation with work, prayer with action and Eucharistic communion with global solidarity.
