A CONCURRENT SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC APPROACH FOR THE DETERMINATION OF THE ISOSBESTIC POINT IN BINARY DRUG SYSTEMS
Abstract:This study introduces asynchronous, thoughtful, and reasonablelight absorptionmethod forsimultaneous estimation. This method is used for measuring the concentrations of MetforminHydrochloride (MH) and Quercetin Dihydrate (QD) simultaneously in a mixture. The two solventsused for this estimation, i.e., methanol and a phosphate buffer at pH 6.8, are in a 60:40 ratio. Thesimultaneous equation method is used to measure the absorbance of MH at 233 nm and QD at 256 nm.Both the drugs followed Beer-Lambert's law in their concentration ranges: MH (1-7 μg/mL) and QD(1-7μg/mL), presenting correlation proportionsbeyond 0.9969 and 0.9989, respectively. The methodemployed an isosbestic point at 249 nm, certifying specificity and suitability for simultaneousestimation. The method demonstrated good sensitivity as indicated by low limits of detection andquantification, while precision studies showed % RSD values below 2%. The recovery of the drug forMH is 99.3%, and for QD, it is 98.9%. The results range between 98.00 and 102.00 %, and theseresults give the accuracy status in relation to thedeveloped analytical method. The precision andreproducibility associated with the method was demonstrated by the low % RSD values. Byconsidering all the parameters, viz., linearity, accuracy and precision, this method is suitable for thesimultaneous estimation.
