First characterization of echolocation calls of the Pacific sheeth-tailed bat, Emballonura semicaudata palauensis
AbstractThis paper provides the first acoustic reference data for the Palauan subspecies of the Pacific sheeth-tailed bat Emballonura semicaudata. On two islands, Koror and Babelthuap, echolocation calls ofEmballonura semicaudata palauensis were recorded. The calls were analyzed and mean frequencies, call length and pulse interval were measured. Additionally, some observations of the feedingbehavior observed at dawn are described.
