Topology Optimization Method for PMSM Based on NGnet Mesh Sequence Cleaning Algorithm
To address the spatial structural discontinuity of topology optimization, this paper proposes a manufacturing‐constrained multi‐material topology optimization approach for permanent magnet synchronous motor. In this method, the centers of normalized Gaussian function within the design domain are determined using the K‐means clustering algorithm, and the number of Gaussian functions is determined by the elbow method. The mesh sequence cleaning algorithm is employed to systematically eliminate micro‐regions in the design domain to enhance structural continuity. The influence of varying cleaning level parameters on the performance of the obtained rotor structure is investigated. For permanent magnet synchronous motor, the proposed method ensures manufacturability, enhances average torque and reduces permanent magnet volume. © 2026 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan and Wiley Periodicals LLC.
