Enhanced Catalytic Performance in 4-nitrophenol Reduction by magnetic Schiff Base g-C 3 N 4 Derivative: From easy synthesis to Recyclable Application

The design of efficient and recyclable nanocomposites for p-nitrophenol reduction presents a persistent challenge. In this contribution, we present a novel magnetic nanomaterial, g-QCA@Fe 3 O 4 , tailored via an organic Schiff-base modification of pristine g-C 3 N 4 followed by sonochemical coating of magnetite nanoparticles. This breakthrough conceptualization addresses critical limits of reported catalysts, i.e., low recovery rate, heavy financial burden, and extended reduction time ranges, through combining the advantages of magnetic recyclability and improved reduction performance. Comprehensive structural, thermal, and morphological characterization approve the efficient coating of magnetite nanoparticles onto the Schiff basegraphitic carbon nitride synthesized catalyst. Notably, the designed nanocomposite attains 98% of pnitrophenol reduction within just 12 minutes following optimized catalytic parameters. [g-QCA@Fe 3 O 4 ] catalyst shows excellent turnover frequency (9115 h -1 ), good magnetic responsive behavior (69.47 emu/g), and remarkable heat resistance, preserving 90% of its at high temperatures. Crucially, the synthesized nanocomposite shows outstanding catalytic performance over five successive reduction runs as well as easy recyclability, highlighting its application potential. This investigation reports an important development in catalytic application, providing a sustainable recyclable system for wastewater treatment, outperforming several noble metal-based platforms.
