The Witness Ordinance: The Manner by Which a Matter Is Established

A structural claim is established when two or more independent constructions, sharing no premises and passing through none of each other's steps, are each complete on their own terms and agree on the object. One construction is a result. Agreement of independent constructions is establishment. The ordinance is ancient, and it is stated as a law at Deuteronomy 19:15: "at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established." The published record of one research program already operates it on two central objects. The quiver Q, four dots and six arrows, the directed graph on the four vertices L, S, T, C, the shape of what there is when it stewards itself, is established by four mathematical characterizations and by three cross-register derivations. Its matrix on the cycle basis, the space of independent cycles with three axes, is the Cartan matrix of A₂ × A₁, the fingerprint of how the cycles couple. B is reached by two constructions from different postures that share one declared premise, which the ordinance counts as one witness with its shared datum on the record rather than as two. The strongest instances are the ones the author did not arrange. The ordinance also meets itself. Read as a claim, it is attested by two premise-disjoint traditions that state it, the Hebrew law and the Hindu law of evidence, with two partials, the Zoroastrian contract rule and the older Mesopotamian practice, and with the whole lineage of restatements descending from the Hebrew law sorted honestly as one witness, so it is established under its own conditions. The lineage-sort is documented at its own seam: classical Roman law did not contain the rule and adopted it by a constitution of Constantine in AD 334, which is transmission on the record rather than a second witness. Its force is completeness plus agreement, never improbability. Its discipline is demonstrated independence, examination rather than counting: a witness is admissible only when its premises are enumerated and disjoint from the other witnesses' premises, a checkable condition, stated on the page for each instance. This paper proposes one correspondence, marked as such: the covenant law of testimony and this rule of decision are one norm, establishment by plural independent witness, stated once for courts and operating here on constructions. The ordinance's own architecture: the gate admits or refuses, handled or carried, the examination follows, the plurality is counted only on what the gate admitted, and the matter is established at the mouths that survive both. **Keywords:** epistemology, philosophy of science, law of evidence, corroboration, comparative law, legal history, biblical law, biblical studies, testimony, convergent evidence, replication, quiver representation theory, bilinear form

Abstract

The bilinear form B is a rule for pairing two cycles and getting a number. Six research programs, strangers to each other and none looking for the others, converge on one molecular node (*Six Independent Research Programs Converge on the Neuronal IRS-1 Ser307/Ser312 Inhibitory Phosphorylation Cluster as a Metabolic Route to Alzheimer's Tau Pathology*, Stewart, 2026do). Six competing theories of consciousness, each with a standing motive to disagree, converge at the level of what each must put to work to operate at all (*Six Theories Quietly Agree That Consciousness Is Experience*, Stewart, 2026u).
