Slãgănəž : The community argot of the Kawəltīn of Annaba (Algeria)
This article presents Slãgănəž, an argot whose matrix is the Arabic dialect of the city of Annaba in Algeria and which is practiced mainly within the local gender and sexuality minority community known as əl-Kawəltīn. I will provide initial information on how this slang functions from a linguistic and sociolinguistic point of view, discuss its classification, its origins and future, and reflect on upcoming studies that should be carried out on it and on North African Queer languages as a whole.
