Policy and temperature associations with gas-specific G7 transport emissions: Temporal predictability and geographic transportability
This repository contains the processed datasets, metadata, analysis code, and replication materials for the study “Policy and temperature associations with gas-specific G7 transport emissions: Temporal predictability and geographic transportability.” The study examines annual transport-sector CO₂, CH₄, and N₂O emissions across Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The replication package includes the complete climate–emissions panel for 2002–2024 and the balanced Environmental Policy Stringency (EPS) analysis panel for 2002–2020, together with variable definitions and data-source documentation. It also contains scripts for two-way fixed-effects estimation, small-cluster wild-bootstrap inference, robustness and temporal-falsification analyses, distributed-lag models, panel-adjusted quantile-on-quantile regression, population-weighted climate sensitivity, leakage-safe machine-learning validation, cross-fitted SHAP attribution, spatial summaries, and mechanism-consistency analyses. Model settings, random seeds, software dependencies, and instructions for reproducing the principal tables and figures are provided. Raw source data remain available from their original repositories, including the World Development Indicators, OECD Environmental Policy Stringency database, Copernicus ERA5, and GPWv4.
