Induced labor: frequency analysis based on data from the Ural Federal District

Objective: to determine the frequency of induced labor according to industry statistics in the Ural Federal District (Ufa) and its regions in accordance with the state of obstetric hospitals. Materials and methods. A descriptive epidemiological study of the frequency of induced labor was conducted according to the industry statistics of the Ufa region. The frequency of induced labor was calculated using the Federal Statistical Observation Form No. 32 for 2019—2024. Information on the number of births was obtained from the collections of statistical materials of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for 2019—2024. Descriptive statistic methods were used, including the average annual growth rate (AAGR). Results. The frequency of induced labor in the Ufa region in 2019 was 79.65%, in 2024 — 118.54%. The average growth rate was 8.28%. The maximum rate of increase in the frequency of induced labor compared to the previous year was observed in 2023—2024 and amounted to 24.82% and 16.82%, respectively. In obstetric hospitals of the 2nd group, a moderate value of AAGR was found — 3.23%. In obstetric hospitals of the 3rd group, the AAGR index was 10.95% and reflected a pronounced growth trend. Conclusion. In the Ufa region in 2023—2024, there was an increase in the frequency of labor induction with the concentration of patients in obstetric hospitals of the third group. The indicator of induced labor is recommended to be used to monitor the implementation of the stages of medical care for pregnant women.
