Transmicrobial Intelligence and Immune Physics: Founding Charter for a New Interdisciplinary Scientific Field

Abstract Life at the microscopic and molecular scales has traditionally been explored through genetics, biochemistry and classical microbiology. Yet, phenomena such as microbial persistence, immune memory, viral evolution, host-microbe coadaptation and emergent system-level behaviors remain poorly explained by conventional paradigms. To address these gaps, we formally introduce transmicrobial intelligence and immune physics (TIIP), a pioneering interdisciplinary field that reconceptualises living systems as dynamic, multi-scale networks of matter, energy and information. In TIIP, bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites and immune networks operate not only through biochemical interactions but also as information processors, adaptive decision-makers and proto-conscious systems, capable of collective intelligence, predictive behaviour and long-term memory across evolutionary timescales. This founding charter delineates the vision, core principles, foundational research programmes, strategic roadmap and translational applications of TIIP, providing a structured framework for transformative research in microbiology, immunology, systems biology, quantum biology and bioinformatics. By integrating informational, energetic and quantum perspectives, TIIP opens avenues for predictive diagnostics, informational therapeutics and novel approaches to understanding health, disease and the emergent properties of living networks.
