CILO: Concept Impact Levels Organization
Organizations are continuously confronted with new concepts such as technology, artificial intelligence, data, innovation, agility, knowledge management, digital transformation, business models, and management approaches. However, the mere introduction of a concept into an organization does not necessarily mean that it has an organizational impact. A concept may initially be used personally by an individual, then become an organizational infrastructure, enter organizational processes, influence the organization’s orientation, become a driving force for the organization, and ultimately enable the creation of new values and broader-scale impacts. This article introduces CILO (Concept Impact Levels Organization) as a proposed conceptual framework for analyzing the levels and pathways through which concepts impact organizations. CILO proposes six levels: User, Infrastructure, Orientation, Driver, Creation, and Civilization. These levels describe the path through which the impact of a concept expands, from individual use to broader systemic impact. The purpose of CILO is to provide an analytical language for answering the question of at which level of the organization a concept is positioned, how it has expanded within the organization, and how far its scope of impact has developed. This framework serves as a foundational layer in the intellectual architecture of the Miadian Strategy School and provides a basis for developing subsequent models of this school, including the Organizational Constellation Model, Exploration Ship Model, Strategic Insight → Vision & Mission, Strategy–Operations Alignment Cube, and ultimately the Miadian Integrated Traceable Strategy Model.
