Local and Tele‐Coupling Coordination Relationships Between Urban Resilience and Ecosystem Health in the Beijing‐Tianjin‐Hebei Region and Analysis of Their Influencing Factors

ABSTRACT Urban resilience and ecosystem health are essential foundations for regional sustainable development, yet their coupled and coordinated relationships remain insufficiently explored at the urban‐agglomeration scale. Taking the 13 prefecture‐level cities in the Beijing‐Tianjin‐Hebei urban agglomeration as the study area and using panel data for 2003, 2008, 2013, 2018, and 2023, this study combines the entropy‐weight method, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), the ecosystem‐health VOR model, the local and tele‐coupling coordination model, and the optimal parameter geodetector (OPGD) to examine the spatiotemporal evolution of urban resilience, ecosystem health, and their influencing factors. The results show that: (1) urban resilience improved steadily from 2003 to 2023, with the composite index rising from 0.1298 to 0.4017, while economic and social resilience increased more markedly and infrastructure resilience remained relatively weak; (2) ecosystem health remained generally high, with a northwest‐high and southeast‐low spatial pattern; (3) local, tele‐coupling coordination, and integrated coordination generally fluctuated upward, with low‐value areas concentrated in Chengde, Tianjin, Langfang, Cangzhou, and Hengshui; and (4) the factors with relatively high explanatory power shifted from economic‐expansion‐related variables in the early period toward social‐foundation variables in the later period. The findings suggest that regional coordination still depends mainly on local‐system optimization and that differentiated governance, cross‐regional ecological compensation, and social‐infrastructure support should be strengthened to improve coordinated regional development and ecological protection.
