Principles and Practices: An Inquiry-Based Approach to Building and Sustaining Inclusive Schools
Our manuscript introduces The Principles and Practices to Build and Sustain Inclusive Schools (P & P) tool, providing a road map for educational systems change. The P & P tool is grounded in appreciative inquiry and approaches systems change by taking a strengths-based approach and celebrating practices that are working well. The P & P tool presents seven principles and supporting practices through a lens of appreciative inquiry and belonging to support building and sustaining inclusive schools and systems. The manuscript outlines flexible uses of the tool which allows users to approach in a way that is meaningful for their own context. In addition, the tool provides guidance on cycles of inquiry, prioritizing, and action planning to guide users along their own journey.
