Enhancing the performance hybrid photodetectors of V2O5/PANI nanocomposite via hydrothermal preparation: studying the effect of PANI concentration on the synergy of the hybrid junction
In the realm of optoelectronics, hybrid nanocomposites are promising materials with significant potential as photodetectors. In order to design hybrid nanocomposites with superior photoconduction capabilities, PANI was hybridized onto V 2 O 5 by the hydrothermal method. To examine V 2 O 5 's photodetection characteristics, four varying PANI content concentrations were investigated. A comprehensive comparison revealed that achieving the greatest photoresponse was the best way to estimate the ideal concentration of PANI intercalated into V 2 O 5 nanofibres. The high performance of optimized photodetectors was ascribed to various photoconductive pathways, effective carrier generation, faster transport, and lower carrier recombination. For the optimized 1:3, the photodetectors’ responsivity, estimated detectivity, and external quantum efficiency (EQE) were calculated as 0.34 A/W, 1.59 × 10 10 Jones, and 137.52%, respectively, for a visible illumination source at a bias voltage of 5 V. The excellent device performance associated with the synergistic effect of PANI results in improving current generation and transport mechanisms. The findings demonstrate a novel approach for synthesising of a surfactant or binder-free hybrid nanocomposite for practical photodetection applications.
