A Love Letter to My Analyst
This creative memoir takes the reader through a psychoanalytic journey, likening each section to custom train compartments. As I wrote from a retrospective manner, I was transported into distinct seasons of remembrance, drawing on session notes and audio recordings (allowed by my analyst). The following chosen compartments in no particular order are: resistance/grief, desire, playfulness, motherhood, and dreamwork. Additionally, the memoir represents an in-depth viewpoint of the unfolding challenges of remote work. The analysis is historically situated in a Pre/Post Pandemic era, yet the idea of remoteness gets lost in an uncanny way amongst the embodied happenings of my analysis. From the start, I examined every observable thing about my analyst until she made it ok to observe the infinite complexities within myself. The story to follow takes a deep dive into the lived experience of an analysis.
